In collaboration with the owner and Davis Jane Garden Design, this roof was completed in 2007 and densely planted native evergreen grasses and bulbs. The house itself is built into the limestone cliff offering maximum insulation and the green roof adds to this integration of the structure into its surroundings. At 6-8" deep, the soil profile is capable of retaining enough water to keep the watering schedule sporadic and the plants healthy and thriving.
